Introduction
Hello all. My name is Seth and this is your daily devotion. You might be a little concerned after reading the title. Yes, devotions and sermons about women are normally given by women. A man can’t fully understand a woman’s experience after all, but perhaps a man can talk about his appreciation for women through his experience as a man. That’s what I aim to do today.
Proverbs 31:25-26 “Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
I pulled such a small portion because a lot of this chapter talks about being a wife and my focus is instead on the excellence of women in general. What i found interesting was that these were things taught to King Lemuel by his mother.
The Women in My Life
I have a couple of women in my life whom I love with all my heart. One, in particular, is struggling with her feelings of being unloved and neglected.
It didn’t come from nowhere. She’s been treated horribly throughout her life and hasn’t been loved by many. I can’t give her a solution, but I can at least try to edify her. This scripture is but a fraction of the person she is and how she’s treated me. I have always been able to rely on her. She doesn’t realize just how wonderful she is.
The Worth of Women
Let’s get back to talking about women in general. I want to make something very clear, men. God absolutely adores the women of this world, from every nation, tongue and background. He made them perfectly and beautifully. Let go of the notion that you can treat them however you wish and that they’re yours to use and fool with.
First and foremost, they belong to God and they are given to you as a gift. The most beautiful parts of the Lord are used to create them and His Spirit lives in them. If you hurt them, you hurt God and you will pay for it. Lift these women high. Cherish and honor them. Care for them. Protect them.
Her affection is akin to the love of God. When she wraps her arms around you, you feel God’s embrace. Her words are wisdom from the Holy Spirit. She supports you and listens to you. She finds the good in you and calls it out. She changes you for the better.
Husbands, she completes you. Sons, she teaches, guides and nourishes you. Brothers, she stands beside you and encourages you. Friends, she trusts and takes delight in you.
Conclusion/Prayer
If you still don’t understand the true value of women, I’m sorry to say that you will never have a proper understanding of God until you do. Tell the women in your life how much they mean to you. Show it as well. Let’s pray on this.
Father, thank you for Your women. Thank You for how you made them. You have given us men a way to love You that can only be done by embracing and cherishing Your women. May we see You when we look at her and experience Your glory through her. We ask this in Your wonderful name. Amen.
That’s all I’ve got for you. Go in peace.
